Summer to Winter in Patriots Nation

September 23, 2015October 18, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots, Super Bowl

According to many in Patriots Nation, the season of fall is going to be skipped this year.  There is no need for Halloween candy.  Forget about watching any games on Thanksgiving before and after dinner.  Instead, we’re moving straight from summer to winter.  The regular season games this year are unnecessary.  It’s over.  The Patriots […]

September 20, 2015September 20, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots, Uncategorized

There was a lot of hype around the Buffalo Bills leading into this week’s game against the Patriots, but Patriots proved that they are still the class of the AFC East division today.  The Patriots won the game 40-32, but it really wasn’t really that close.  Offensively, the Patriots did whatever they wanted to do. The top Patriot and best player on the field during the Patriots 28-21 Week 1 victory was Rob Gronkowski.  “Gronk” caught five passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns.  Once again, he was simply unstoppable in the red zone.  It’s clear that the Patriots opponents are keying on Gronkowski when the Patriots have key third […]

As Red Sox fans celebrate David Ortiz’ 500th home run, it’s a good time to discuss Ortiz’ overall impact in Red Sox history.  Ortiz joined elite company last night.  Not only has Ortiz put his name on the 500 HR list, but he has made a significant impact on all three Red Sox championships.  An […]

The NFL season has finally arrived meaning not only can we watch football again, but it’s also tailgate time!  The Patriots face the Steelers on Thursday Night Football to kickoff the 2015 NFL season.  Unfortunately, the main stories about the Patriots this week have not been about this game or even this season.  Deflategate and […]

Patriots: A Historic Pursuit

September 6, 2015September 17, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots

The Patriots open up this season on Thursday Night Football against the Steelers in a season which could be a historic pursuit for this team.  The focus on the Patriots this offseason has been squarely on Tom Brady and Deflategate.  After Thursday’s ruling, that can all be put in the rear view mirror for now. […]

ABOUT

First Score Boston - A Boston Sports Blog
The Boston sports teams are about winning and championships. Nine championships in fifteen years speaks for itself! One of the goals of all four teams is to get out in front early by scoring first. The intent of this site is get the "First Score" on multiple Boston sports topics. This doesn't necessarily mean it will be the first time you hear a specific take on a topic with every post just as the Boston teams don't score first every time. However, the intent is to give you, the reader, something unique and provide opinions on a range of topics that you don't always read about every day.

The opinions on my posts are my own. These opinions may not always be favorable and I don't expect that you'll always agree with them. The "First Score" goal is simply for the readers to enjoy reading about these topics as much as I enjoy writing about them. Your comments and feedback are welcome!
