A Winter Classic Event

December 29, 2015December 30, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Boston Bruins, Featured, Hockey, Stanley Cup

There will be an NHL hockey game played on Friday that will be a Winter Classic Event in Foxboro, MA.  This game has been hyped up a lot over the past couple of weeks, but the overall magnitude of this game has actually been underrated.  The focus in Boston continues to be about the Patriots […]

A Rivalry Renewed?

December 27, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots

The Patriots and Jets played another close game which was down to the wire on Sunday which poses the question about whether or not this is a rivalry renewed in the AFC East.  The Patriots have not had much, if any, competition in the AFC East since they started their historic run back in 2001. […]

On May 26, 2015, we posted our first blog post on First Score Boston.  The past seven months have brought a lot of different sports topics to the table.  We started out with the Red Sox disappointing start, major changes on the Bruins during the offseason, and Deflategate.  The summer brought us a bit of […]

Would The Patriots Trade Tom Brady?

December 20, 2015December 22, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots, Super Bowl

Would the Patriots trade Tom Brady this offseason for the right deal? Before you start to think of this as a ridiculous concept, please take a step back and put on your objectivity hat.  Let’s start with this.  Tom Brady is still playing at an elite level.  He’s still one of the best quarterbacks in […]

2016 Boston Sports Outlook

December 17, 2015December 18, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, Featured, Patriots

As we approach the holiday season and the end of the year, now is a good time to analyze the 2016 Boston Sports Outlook.  The prognosis is very positive overall.  All four teams have legitimate chances of not only making the playoffs, but making a solid run.  It’s very rare to have a year where […]

Unfinished Business At Fenway

December 13, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Baseball, Boston Red Sox, Featured

The Red Sox have made some major moves to improve their team this offseason, but there is still some unfinished business.  This may sound greedy considering the major acquisitions the Red Sox have made so far this offseason including David Price, Craig Kimbrel, Chris Young, and Carson Smith.  Price gives the Sox the #1 starter […]

After their big win against the Chicago Bulls on national TV on Wednesday Night, the Boston Celtics have a golden opportunity to let the NBA know that they’re for real on Friday Night.  The Celtics will be facing the 23-0 Golden State Warriors.  The defending NBA champions have not only won every game, but they’re […]

Patriots Nation vs. The World

December 6, 2015December 6, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots

Many members of Patriots Nation have had an us against the world mentality for a long time, but this year many fans are taking it a new level.  Following the loss last week on Sunday Night Football to the Denver Broncos, there were a lot of sour grapes being served at the table.  Many Patriots […]

The Price Of Winning

December 1, 2015 Joe Leave a comment Baseball, Boston Red Sox, Featured

The Red Sox landed David Price today with a seven-year, $217 million contract and the sports buzz in Boston is all about the price of winning.  There are mixed feeling about the move.  Price was the best player on the MLB free agent market.  He’s as much of a sure thing as there is from […]

ABOUT

First Score Boston - A Boston Sports Blog
The Boston sports teams are about winning and championships. Nine championships in fifteen years speaks for itself! One of the goals of all four teams is to get out in front early by scoring first. The intent of this site is get the "First Score" on multiple Boston sports topics. This doesn't necessarily mean it will be the first time you hear a specific take on a topic with every post just as the Boston teams don't score first every time. However, the intent is to give you, the reader, something unique and provide opinions on a range of topics that you don't always read about every day.

The opinions on my posts are my own. These opinions may not always be favorable and I don't expect that you'll always agree with them. The "First Score" goal is simply for the readers to enjoy reading about these topics as much as I enjoy writing about them. Your comments and feedback are welcome! Please follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Google, and Tumblr by clicking the link in the Follow Us section!
Thank you! - Joe
