  • The Creation Of Tom-MEEE Brady

It started with TB12.  The player who was once all about the team first and was in line with this notion that no one player is above the team has all but gone away.  Over time, the man many call the greatest football player of all time has become a “me first” guy. The creation […]

April 7, 2019April 26, 2020 Joe 1 Comment Baseball, Boston Red Sox, World Series

They have nothing left to hang on to.  Their sports teams are not contenders.  All they have left is a glimmer of hope that their mighty baseball team which is rich in history will return to the glory days. “27!” That’s what they say.  It’s a number that in their view is one of power […]

After a historic 108 win regular season, the Boston Red Sox are in the World Series vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Despite many question marks going into the postseason, the Sox answered the call and rolled their way past the New York Yankees and Houston Astros. “The bullpen sucks”. “David Price will never win in […]

The Red Sox BIG Problem… (It’s NOT The Bullpen)

October 7, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe 3 Comments Baseball, Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox are heading to Yankees Stadium for Game 3 of the ALDS tied at 1-1.  Give that most objective fans expected a relatively even series that will go five games, this shouldn’t much of a surprise.  What also should not be much of a surprise is a major issue the Red Sox have […]

August 18, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Basketball, Boston Celtics

Last week, a Celtics analyst gave an opinion on who is the best all around Celtics player of all time.  This debate has been made for many years as there are two players at the top who any fan could make an argument for.  However, after Bill Russell and Larry Bird, there’s a drop off. […]

Wake Up, Red Sox Nation… This Isn’t John Farrell’s Red Sox Team!

The Boston Red Sox are fifty games above .500 on August 12th.  They’re currently on pace to win 115 games.  Only one team in the history of baseball has won more than that in the regular season…the 2001 Seattle Mariners.  The Red Sox also have the #1 and #2 MVP candidates in Mookie Betts and […]

They’re the underdogs…again.  They don’t care and neither should you. This Boston Celtics team is one of the most resilient teams we have ever seen in Boston.  That’s high praise for an organization that has won 17 titles and a city that has won ten titles in the last sixteen years overall.  The Celtics are […]

Why The Celtics Can Win The NBA Title THIS YEAR

May 6, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Basketball, Boston Celtics, NBA Championship

Going into this year’s NBA Playoffs, the expectations for the Celtics were fairly low.  Despite being the #2 seed in the East, they were viewed as a team who simply had back luck with injuries.  While the season was still being viewed as a success, the feeling was that the Celtics may defeat the Bucks, […]

ABOUT

First Score Boston - A Boston Sports Blog
The Boston sports teams are about winning and championships. Nine championships in fifteen years speaks for itself! One of the goals of all four teams is to get out in front early by scoring first. The intent of this site is get the "First Score" on multiple Boston sports topics. This doesn't necessarily mean it will be the first time you hear a specific take on a topic with every post just as the Boston teams don't score first every time. However, the intent is to give you, the reader, something unique and provide opinions on a range of topics that you don't always read about every day.

The opinions on my posts are my own. These opinions may not always be favorable and I don't expect that you'll always agree with them. The "First Score" goal is simply for the readers to enjoy reading about these topics as much as I enjoy writing about them. Your comments and feedback are welcome! Please follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Google, and Tumblr by clicking the link in the Follow Us section!
Thank you! - Joe
