The Creation Of Tom-MEEE Brady

April 26, 2020April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots, Super Bowl

It started with TB12.  The player who was once all about the team first and was in line with this notion that no one player is above the team has all but gone away.  Over time, the man many call the greatest football player of all time has become a “me first” guy. The creation […]

When Did Bill Belichick Become The Bad Guy?

April 20, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots

It’s been two months since the Patriots were dethroned by the Philadelphia Eagles.  Two months to reset and be “on to” the next season.  Yet, Patriots Nation is still stuck in the past.  While the Celtics and Bruins are having great success in the playoffs and the Red Sox are off to the best start […]

In Bill We….QUESTION???

February 9, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots, Super Bowl, Uncategorized

He’s arguably the greatest NFL coach of all time.  He reached a god-like status amongst Patriots Nation.  He even was applauded when he gave us nothing when it came to insight on the team.  Win at any expense. In Bill We Trust we called it… Until February 5, 2018. 18 season as Head Coach of […]

The JAGS Who Cried Wolf At Gillette

January 22, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots, Super Bowl

Following the Patriots 24-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the latest conspiracy theory began.  What was it this time?  The officiating!  The Jags were called for six penalties for 98 yards.  The Patriots were called for one penalty for ten yards.  After the game, the Jaguars players complained about the calls and the impact the […]

TOM CeleBRADY

January 11, 2018April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots

He was just another player on the team.  One of the 53 guys.  Despite early success in his career, Tom Brady was a very unique superstar.  He didn’t care about publicity.  He didn’t want attention.  He sat in the shadows of the public eye while Peyton Manning was the face of the NFL from a […]

Thank You, Jimmy Garoppolo?

December 25, 2017April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots

After the Patriots win over the Bills on Sunday, the eyes in Patriots Nation turned to the Jaguars vs. 49ers game.  This was significant for the Patriots as the Jaguars were still a threat to earn a first round bye over the Pats in the playoffs.  On top of that, Jimmy Garoppolo was going against […]

Patriots Message: It’s Tom Brady Or BUST

November 5, 2017April 26, 2020 Joe Leave a comment Football, Patriots

In a two month span, the New England Patriots went from having the best quarterback situation in the National Football League to going all in on a 40 year-old quarterback.  Like it or not, Patriots fans, the window started to close down by a few inches last week when the Patriots traded Jimmy Garoppolo to […]

Euphoria In Patriots Nation

January 23, 2017 Joe 2 Comments Featured, Football, Patriots, Super Bowl

The New England Patriots are going to the Super Bowl…again.  What this team has accomplished over the past decade and a half is unprecedented.  The Patriots are now the late 1990’s New York Yankees of the NFL.  They’re the team that has a very confident and cocky fan base.  There’s a definitive swagger there and […]

NFL Awards Have Lost Meaning

January 5, 2017 Joe Leave a comment Featured, Football, Patriots

Over the course of the past week, there has been a lot of talk about the NFL MVP and Coach of the Years Awards.  In Boston, this has been a hot topic as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are strong candidates for awards.  There are many fans who believe that Brady and Belichick should win […]

What To Do With Jimmy G?

November 20, 2016 Joe 1 Comment Featured, Football, Patriots

Jimmy Garoppollo is now in his third full NFL season.  He has played just about two full games in those three years.  Earlier this season, he had an opportunity to play and he did very well by leading the Patriots to wins over the Cardinals and Dolphins before a shoulder injury sidelined him.  We know […]

ABOUT

First Score Boston - A Boston Sports Blog
The Boston sports teams are about winning and championships. Nine championships in fifteen years speaks for itself! One of the goals of all four teams is to get out in front early by scoring first. The intent of this site is get the "First Score" on multiple Boston sports topics. This doesn't necessarily mean it will be the first time you hear a specific take on a topic with every post just as the Boston teams don't score first every time. However, the intent is to give you, the reader, something unique and provide opinions on a range of topics that you don't always read about every day.

The opinions on my posts are my own. These opinions may not always be favorable and I don't expect that you'll always agree with them. The "First Score" goal is simply for the readers to enjoy reading about these topics as much as I enjoy writing about them. Your comments and feedback are welcome! Please follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Google, and Tumblr by clicking the link in the Follow Us section!
Thank you! - Joe
